I am excited to be starting my 21st year at Stadium Drive Elementary School. Eastern Michigan University is where I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a ZA endorsement. I earned my Masters in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College and have acquired an additional 30 credit hours in various educational classes.
I believe that I have the rare opportunity to work closely with our children of today who will make a difference in our tomorrow. Our classroom environment embraces a culture of respect and acceptance of each other. We learn by doing and making mistakes. We learn by sharing our ideas and listening to new ones. We learn by taking risks and continuous reflection. It is my goal that every student who enters our classroom grows both academically and socially, all while experiencing that learning can be fun!
Reading is my favorite hobby. Reading on the beach is Paradise.
I haven't met a creature I didn't like
I love to travel and visit new places.
My Furry Family
These two boys, Mawby and Murmur, are the main characters to many of the stories my students will hear me tell this year.
Sheldon is the newest member of the family. He is excited to soon star in the stories Ms. Lavin will tell! He is sweet, cuddly and is always up for a good time.
My GREAT Niece.....
Brielle is the newest member of my family. She is my first Grand Niece. I am excited to share her "stories" with my students. This October she will be celebrating her 4th birthday!
